THE UNREQUITED LOVE
she waters it with love everyday;
a feeling planted on his stoney grounds,
how ungrateful it chose to decay,
yes, love only grows on fertile lands.

how romantic a flower chills with a bee,
perhaps this is true love;
her nectar she give for free,
but stingy bees share no honey when it has enough.

A bird lover and a charming parrot;
a soulmate trapped by her selfish ego,
in love with a being that loves him not,
any man would build a cage not to let it go.

who knew love was a felony;
a crime committed with a pure heart,
unrequited love, a judge's ruling;
a punishment that leaps a lover apart.

if only their was love for every lover,
a kiss, for every rose and warmth in the cold,
but unrequited love doesn't make a mind sober.
it's a pain we live to die for, hoping one-day love will be reciprocated.
