GRANDMA
lying on her sick bed with faint pulse
in pains, her eyes showed strength
but they already know her time is near
the love of their life is about to exit
rigid and stiff she looks
skin wrinkled and fluffy soft
her finger twitched lightly
as a tear roll down the side of her eye
with her last breathe she whispered
the magic word before she sighed
these words tore them into pieces
“I’ll love you always”
in a bit of it all he knew it all
for she was no longer of this world
as she stare into space muttering words
her smile is becoming rather unbecoming
grandma smiled and shut her eyes
her hands withdraw from his hand
he tried grabbing it back in a little effort
but she was gone, already gone
silently they sobbed
firmly gripping the edge of the bedsheet in tears
grandma has finally gone to rest
who would love them unconditionally now
