when i woke today you were gone,
erased like you were never a past,
the connection we once had broken,
as if it was all in my head.

if this is some way of punishing me,
to feel the same heartache you do,
then you should know its working,
& i hate you for leaving me like this.

my heart has been aching, yearning for you,
ive tried to keep it grounded until we met,
but you know how poetry can be, romantic,
i just wish we could’ve talked more about it.
