Daddy Issues
Someone asked me a question,
That feels far too personal,
It's only a first impression,
I might be completely wrong and irrational,
but he wasn’t there.
I grew up in another life.
Full of strife,
With just me and my mum and brothers and sister.
That was enough for a while.
soon he showed up when I was nine,
only stayed for a year,
I wish he would’ve been here,
but all that he brought me were tears.
I wonder what it’s like,
For a father to love his daughter, right
To not put up a fight,
and actually sleep at night.
I look into his eyes and suddenly I’m nonexistent,
he became so distant,
like I wasn’t missed,
When I first met him,
I thought he was brilliant.
Never judge a book by its cover,
because you will discover that the things that lie within can make you suffer.
