Rainy Days
I took in a deep breath and looked at the way the steady rain splattered on the puddles of the tarmac.
It gave my eyes a cooling sensation.
I felt it all the way to the back of my head.
From pertrichor to the sweet aroma of watery earth.
I'm a Pluviophile.
It's that specific feeling rainy days give you.
You know what I mean.
It's a feeling drawn in from the sense of smell.
There's a raw magic to it.
It's sensational.
You tend to feel it in your heart space.
Then it slowly travels to the pit of your stomach and it burrows there.
Call it melancholy, it's the similar feeling you get when you lay a loved one to rest or you have to face a difficult situation.
The notes of similarity are somewhere between here & there.
Herein arises the beauty of sadness, of dullness and what heightened senses they bring.
The cool wind, activates the sense of touch, immediately our body responds with a hardened nipple and the need to feel warmth.
All of which are soothed, so lovingly with the contrast of a hot shower, the feeling of silky and scented bath foam lathered on soft skin.
Vanilla and musk on the peach.
Down the neck, through each crevice then down the drain.
The beauty of rain.
It's for the dull & the lull.
I hope you have fun.
