she wore a thousand faces,
all to hide her own
amidst her curls,
and a wild smile.
head flips,
and engaging eyes.

for her reality,
might break you.


she was never crazy
she just didn’t let her heart
settle in a cage.

she was born wild
and sometimes
we need people like her.

for its the
horrors in her heart
which cause the
flames in ours.

and she?
she was always willing to burn
for everything,
for everyone,
she has ever loved.

though on some days,
she’s looking.


she’s looking —
for the respect she deserved
for the love she never had
for the freedom she wasn’t allowed to taste.

she’s looking
for the moment to be herself
for the moment she’s to love herself,
and just her alone.
for the moment,
where she’s not someone’s
daughter, mother, sister or wife..

but she is she,
and that alone
should be allowed
even if for a moment —
i swear,
it’ll be enough.
