SELF HATRED
In a world based on love and friendship,
I look outward to find these enticing sips,
The windy oasis dances outside the static of my mind,
But within me grows a barren desert that leaves me with snides,
A blight that eats more on my inside,
A disease that greets my heart with an allowance of reside,
A puncture that shatters my sense of self,
My character now only a people painted mural that hangs off a shelf,
A sly companion that occupies my heart space,
A deafening watchtower that compares me in a snail's pace,
A picturesque inkling that draws around me,
Visible in the corridors of mind, you see,
A dull crater lays down in its wake,
Leaving a person with a tasteless cake,
The pretty ones stand to their sides,
Piercing me...
