Over and over I lied to myself
He'll change... he'll finally see me
Deception clouded my view as I danced to his tune
I told myself it'll pass as I licked my wounds and watched each bruise form
Days passed and the scars grew thicker as each strike grew harder

Over and over I deceived myself
He'll change... he'll change for the better
My window fogs up as I lay in wait for him
Pondering if this is just one of his late nights out
Or if he's even coming home tonight
My worry slowly gives way
He stumbles though the door giving way to the start of serenity
Broken bottles litter the floor
My blood splatters on the wall

Over and over I looked for a change
He'll change... he'll love me again
I mummur words of hope scrubbing down the wall
His head laid in the sink
His body long gone
Maybe this was the change I longed for
Eternal serenity
