এটি একটি বিচিত্র কাহিনী,
বলি শোনো সবাই,
শুনলে পরে,
মুগ্ধ হবে,
আশা করি তাই 🙏

কাশীতে থাকতেন, একটি কবরেজ,
তারই সে মেয়ের গল্প,
নাম ছিল তার সত্যবতী,
না না মহাভারত নয়কো।

এ ছিল অন্য মহিলা,
সবার চেয়ে আলাদা,
চিন্তা ভাবনায়,
মুক্ত সে,
সময়েটা ছিল,
ব্রিটিশদের।

মেয়েদের ছিল নাকো পড়াশোনা,
দিতো নাকো শিক্ষা,
বিয়ে হতো আট, চার তিনে,
এই ছিল তাদের দীক্ষা,
এই ছিল তাদের সংকল্প।

বর যেমনই হোক, তিনি হন দেবতা,
এইটাই ছিল শ্লোক।

সেই সময়েই এই কন্যাটি,
আনে পরিবর্তন,
পড়াশোনা নিয়ে মাতে সে যে,
চেষ্টা করে শত শত।

কাশীর সে কবরেজটি ছিলেন ভগবানের
মতো,
জানতে পায় মেয়ে লিখতে শিখেছে বড়ো,
একদিন ডেকে পাঠালেন তিনি,
সত্যবতীকে,
বললেন, " তুমি নাকি লিখতে শিখেছো?
আমাকে দেখাবে লিখে?"

একটি কাগজ, একটি কলম ,
ধরিয়ে দিলো তাকে,
সত্যবতী লিখতো কলা পাতায়,
তাই শরীরের জোর লাগালো
খাতাতে।

বাবার কাছেই,
শিক্ষা পেলো,
পড়তে লাগলো দিন ভোর,
তবে একদিন এলো,
সেই সংকট।

সত্যবতীর বিবাহ,
স্থির করলো তার মা
লেখা পড়া,
শেষ হলো তার,
শশুরবাড়ি ঠাঁই।

চলতো লড়াই, চলতো ঝগড়া,
এলো কেশির সাথে,
এমন করেই দিন যাচ্ছিলো,
দিনে ও রাতে।

তারপরেতে এলো সুবর্ণ,
মায়ের কোল আলো করে,
সত্যবতী স্বপ্ন দেখে,
মেয়ে গিয়েছে স্কুলে,
শিক্ষিত সুবর্ণ,
দাঁড়িয়ে আছে,
সম্মুখে।
ঠিক করলো সত্যবতী কলকাতায় যাবে চলে,
গ্রামে শিক্ষা জোটেনা ভালো,
বিয়ে দিয়ে দেবে।
অবশেষে সত্য এলো কলকাতায়,
পরিবারের সাথে,
আসার সময়ে ঝগড়া হয়েছে,
শাশুরিমার সাথে।


সত্যর ছিল দুটি ছেলে, একটি কন্যে,
সুবর্ণ রোজ স্কুলে যেত,
তার ছোটদার সাথে।

অন্যদিকে বড়ো ছেলে,
কলেজে সে যেত,
কিন্ত তার ভাবনা চিন্তা,
একইরম ছিল।
সে বলতো, " মা তোমার যত বাড়াবাড়ি,
বোনকে নিয়ে করো কেন এতো মাতামাতি?
মেয়েমানুষ স্কুলে যাবে কেন,
সেই তো তার বিয়ে দেবে,
একদিন? "


Explaination in English : ( Satyabati and Subarna, Part 1)


This is a story of a girl named Satyabati, she used to live in Kashi. Her father was a doctor. That was the time when British used to rule India and that time some villages never allowed the girl to go to school or study. That time the girl used to get married at the age of five, four or three, with a teenage boy. Satyabati wanted to study. She used to write on a banna leaf and practiced alphabets. Oneday his father came to know that Satya had learned to write and read. He asked her to write on paper. He gave her a copy and the pen.... As I told u my readers that she used to write on a banana leaf so she used to apply so much force, the same force she applied on paper while writing. Her father was impressed with her and used to teach her when her mother forced Satyabati to marry. Her all the dreams broke into pieces. She got married with a teenage boy at the age of 8. And everday she had arguments with her mother in law, named Elokeshi. Satyabati had three children, two sons named Sadhan the elder and Shorol the younger and one girl named Shubarnalata. Satyabati decided to shift in the city Kolkata... For in Kolkata there were so many girl's school and she wanted Shubarnalata to study and led her life with pride. That was her dream too. After so many arguments with her mother in law, atlast she shifted to Kolkata with her family. Shubarnalata was admitted to school and she used to go to school with her younger brother everyday. Satyabati' s elder son Sadhan, used to study in college but although he was good in studies but his idea was the same. He was against her mother's will. He asked his mother.
" Why you admitted Subarna to school. A girl shouldn't read in school. Oneday u have to give married Subarna off. So why this studies? "
