The Wall
I lean on the wall.
I'm jealous of how steady it feels.
While I'm stumbling through the dark.
I lean on the wall.
Feeling the smooth surface beneath my hand.
While I'm trying to stop my body from shaking.
I lean on the wall.
Feeling it pressed against my back.
Letting myself fall into it with all my trust.
I lean on the wall.
I'm jealous of how steady it is.
I want to be still and strong like the wall.
