"Another Loss"

Again, so close to Christmas
And we lose another friend
Too many times in one year
When is it gonna end?
One of my closest buds, Dre,
Was called back to God last December
And now D.J. Robb left us just before the start of November
K.J's life ended so suddenly and
Mercedes was missing just over a year
They found her remains in February but
The reasoning for her death is still unclear
"Stranger" fell into the hands of a serial killer
Our buddy Batista I think was shot
And let me not forget about Johnny
Who was killed by Farmers Branch cops
These words purports all of my feelings on the fact
How you may not possibly even see tomorrow
But know of anybody that you have lost
Wouldn't want us to live in sorrow
I have a hard time living with the
fact that
I had the strongest urge to get a hold of DJ Robb in jail
I was gonna set up a video call cause
Communication would have taken to long by mail
To see where he was
I looked him up on the website
I ended up not calling him
Because I happened to get sidetracked
Ones attention being pulled elsewhere
Tends to happen to us more times than not
Then so suddenly your loved one is gone
Leaving us with feelings of sorrow and distraught
Things you wish you would have said
Or things you wish you would have done
Not ever wishing that painful hurt feeling
To have to be experienced by anyone
But why is it always around Christmas or holidays
When we lose that special friend?
To many times in one year
How long will it take my heart to amend?
