I stand here, ready to take the floor
In my heart, I know what's in store
For I am a dancer, of contemporary style
I'll move with grace, and make it worthwhile
I take a breath, and let my body flow
Each movement, I make it my own show
With no set steps, I am free to express
My innermost feelings, I need to address
My body sways, to the rhythm of the beat
My soul rejoices, with every step I meet
I feel alive, with each twist and turn
With every leap, my heart begins to burn
The music builds, as I begin to soar
I take flight, and land on the floor
My body moves, with such fluidity
My emotions pouring out, with such intensity
Contemporary dance, it's my true passion
It's my way of life, my endless ration
For in each moment, I find my release
And in the dance, I find my peace.
