For some reason
I woke up feeling empty,
That feeling stuck with me throughout the day.
Demons whispering in my ear,
"You are nothing"
"useless"
"disappointment".
It was hard trying to keep up a facade.
It was almost dinnertime,
I had to go shopping for groceries.
Music always cheered me up so I played one.
It's funny how a simple song could put a smile on your face in seconds.
The sudden rush of joy had me grinning,
Headphones on I skipped and danced my way.
I never thought of what people would say when they saw me,
I was too happy to care.
I smiled,
It wasn't fake either.
Normally in these moments, my imagination conjures up my guardians.
My saviours.
This time I wasn't someone I created,
It was me.
All my flaws,
All my insecurities,
But I didn't care.
I guess I'm slowly starting to love myself,
I hope I can one day show them the girl I have always locked away.
