I never knew what it was truly like to have an ideal father in my life
A guy who would teach me how to ride a bike
A guy who would teach me about boys
And how some view girls as their personal toys
Life handed me an occasional pop up guy
A guy who told many, many lies
A guy who showed his “love” through money
Ha, isn’t that funny
It would’ve been nice to have an ideal father
One who would care to bother
One who wouldn’t put all the responsibilities onto one person
No one should have to carry that burden
I always wondered how “parents” could be so neglectful
Truth is that without my dad my life is so much more peaceful
I learned to adjust without him
And I’m continuing to become a great young woman
So thank you “Dad” for leaving me to repair what was broken
