Down the Stream
Paper boats
find their sail
down the stream,

as I watched
Until they were
out of my sight.

I thought
I'd let you go or
I'll let you be;

But I find myself
chasing after you,
Not thinking.

Skipping through
the scowling bushes.
But I smiled.

Half running;
half skipping
And jumping.

I forgot to breathe
when I finally saw you.
And I stopped.

Catching my breath;
I knelt and made ripples,
I smiled.

I promised
To let you go-
But, I couldn't.

I promised;
I'll set you free,
And let you sail.

If only;
The stream is smooth,
And snatch you away.

For I know;
You'll find a way,
To Your Home.

Down the stream.
Over the horizon.
It will take you home.
