The River of Time

The River of Time

The river flows, ever onward,
A constant reminder of time.
As I watch it move steadily forward,
I feel the years passing quickly by.

When I was young, the river raced,
Its current wild and free.
I splashed and played in its embrace,
Unaware of what was to be.

But now as I stand by its shore,
The river has a different pace.
It moves slowly, gently and more,
Like the lines on an old man's face.

The river of time, it ebbs and flows,
As we journey on this path.
Each moment a precious gift it bestows,
But we cannot turn back.

The memories of youth may fade,
As we travel farther down the stream.
But the lessons learned, they never evade,
And shape who we become, it seems.

So let us cherish the moments we hold,
And savor each step on this ride.
For the river of time, it never grows old,
But flows ever onward, with the tides.
