The Tether Between Us
Forget that we don't look alike
a skin tone dark, mocha or light
forget language separates us too
gender, sexuality, age, bid it adieu.

I am at the core a light of my soul
complex aura, a part of the whole
its power is to travel beyond things
contains the heart of me, has wings.

And when we're together we merge
like attracts like as our spirits surge
distance irrelevant, connection is all
bond like an invisible telephone call.

We melt or clash, yet know not why
there are things beyond a naked eye
extra sensory perception, odd feeling
colours blending, sharing, appealing.

May we combine spiritually as one
no matter how little time may come
it's indelibly a part not linked to brain
when I die it may help find you again.

As you ask "is there something more?"
a spark, a love, a bond we can't ignore
yes Habibi, spark of life is from a fire
we're all flames returning to same pyre.

Beyond, it permeates time and space
my soul brushes shores of your place
and washes over you, as you do on me
I'm bathed in your true waves and see.

Not the lies, nor the mask or that ill
but you, your light and shadow fill
every part makes its mark if we wish
we swim in Universal flows like fish.

I may not know your flesh or words
but our spirits fly like heavenly birds
or swim mighty cosmic tides together
I do believe, you and I have this tether.
