this morning,
may the early rains
rejuvenate and sooth my spirit;
may the calmness of this morning
enrich my soul greatly,
and may the events of today
bring peace and prosperity to me.

as the eagle glides with grace,
so would i soar above mediocrity;
as the whale does not go by unnoticed,
so would my existence gather great wealth to me.

purge my spirit clean,
o light of the morning,
and shelter me completely
my prince of peace;
for my hope is built on no other rock
but the unfailing rock of ages.
