What if...?
What if I wasn't born?
The blazing sun would never have tanned my slender frame,
The gentle moon wouldn't have lighted the silent night,
A mango tree would never have grown my way,
And her smile wouldn't have caught my heart.
What if I wasn't named?
Identity might be lost within my reach,
Mastery might be tagged to nothingness,
Hey there, might have been my everyday summon,
And her call might never have journeyed my way.
What if I wasn't here?
The pain and trouble attached to culture would never have been a concern,
The laughter and accent would not have escaped my lips,
The beauty and thinking might not have held on to me,
And her fragrance would never have caught my senses.
What if, this
What if, that
Yet my wish is,
Thank God, I was born,
Thank God, I was named,
Thank God, I am here.
Unless I might not be graced to imagine what if
