On Fire
#WritcoPoemPrompt9
A stolen morsel more precious than gold,
A stolen shirt to keep out the cold,
There is no price to hunger,
There is no price to shelter,
There is no price to kindness.

Wow, how lovely a prompt
in the time when riots run amuck.
It seems to be Left versus Right
Socialism versus Capitalism.
Where one is the end all be all
and the other is more a free-for-all.

I've lived in the place where
socialism is the answer.
And Capitalism is the Devil's Dancer.
If there was no Capitalist system,
there'd be no poverty or needed assistance.

Because "capitalism is created by greed
by facists
by the need for green.
But socialism is the system
created out of kindness
out of desire for something higher".

Where we can't put a price on kindness
A price on shelter
A price on hunger.
Therefore,
these things should all be free!
Forget the farmer;
forget the global, world market.

Forget that the rest of the world relies on money.
Forget that change takes time.
If we light the world on fire
...
If we light the world on fire...

From ashes to ashes; from dust to dust.

I really didn't think
the Bible meant for us
...

If we light the world on fire
what's left?
Everything becomes dire...
the forests become ashes
the cities become dust
We become a true product of our making:
Monsters, in a sea of rust.
