don't think about those nails he's digging in

don't let that tortured gasp of fear break through
don't run for fear upon looking back he's chasing you.

constricted, mashed against his chest
pushing away, trying to contest

shaking your head, saying no,
doesn't seem to stop him, doesn't make him slow...

the nerves so frayed the fear self evident
he doesn't obey common laws precedent
