Out Of My Group Of Childhood Friends I Am The Only One Left Living
The days of youth are but a fading dream,
A time we once shared with dear comrades dear,
Those who were there, now gone, no longer seen,
Leaving behind their memory sincere.

Like the last leaf standing in solemn state,
Bereft of the company it did keep,
I stand alone, amidst the winds of fate,
Remembering the joys we shared, so sweet.

The years have passed, and life has taken toll,
On those who once made life a pure delight,
And left me with an aching, empty soul,
As I mourn the loss of those out of sight.

Yet still my memories keep them close at hand,
And the bond we shared forever will stand.
