The Living Room
I'm scared that someday
When you leave
My living room will turn into
A bat cave
Again
Because it is you...
Who made me pull the curtains
And let the sunshine brighten up the floor and walls
Who invited me to open the door
And welcome the warmth of the playful breeze
Who taught me how to make a cup of tea and a cold glass of orange juice
Who helped me dust off the seats and the center table
With you around
I learned to operate the stereo
I started to display framed photographs
I even filled the crystal vase with fresh flowers
You showed me
That I am capable of changing
That I am worthy to have someone
In my living room
And now that I have completely renovated
My dark lonesome chamber
I'm scared that someday
When you leave
My living room will turn into
A bat cave
Again
Or worse
Into a grave
When you leave
My living room will turn into
A bat cave
Again
Because it is you...
Who made me pull the curtains
And let the sunshine brighten up the floor and walls
Who invited me to open the door
And welcome the warmth of the playful breeze
Who taught me how to make a cup of tea and a cold glass of orange juice
Who helped me dust off the seats and the center table
With you around
I learned to operate the stereo
I started to display framed photographs
I even filled the crystal vase with fresh flowers
You showed me
That I am capable of changing
That I am worthy to have someone
In my living room
And now that I have completely renovated
My dark lonesome chamber
I'm scared that someday
When you leave
My living room will turn into
A bat cave
Again
Or worse
Into a grave
