Mama is a Bluebird

Mama lends me her shoulder
to dry away my tears;
She fears now that I'm older
I will not need her near.

Mama gives me her ears
to listen through my pain;
She fears without some shine
I'll only walk through heavy rains.

Mama shows me her eyes
to see behind the frown;
She fears without her love
I'll have nobody else around.

For mama is my bluebird
She's always by my side;
The brightest sun shines through me
For mama's arms are open wide.

Mama is a bluebird
She's the soft and happy skies;
She's my rainbow after rain
and a beauty in my eyes.
