a passing moment that never was
I invented you in the end
An excuse to pretend to sin
A mirage of love
A false angel from above
I let you go for my own sanity
Knowing if I tried to keep up the pretense it would lead to nothing but insanity
Letting this go was the right thing to do I finally crushed this crazy fantasy
To be at peace and to let you go
Like seeing ashes in the wind released
My mind's been unlocked to leave this mess all behind
So I've walked away scales dropped from my eyes as I left you far behind
You were in the final moments just a ghost
A heavy fog on the coast
Rolling in but eventually conquered by the sun
The truth has shined through and your sweet words undone
And so maybe I'm alone
But honesty is my friend even though alone
