in this game of life
My life is like a game of chess,
Strategically I make moves each test.
My pathways I must wisely choose,
A lifetime of decisions to prove I'm not a fool.
King and queen, bishop and knight,
Sacrifices must be made in the fight.
Battle-worn, in all my weariness,
Checkmate the enemy, my success.
The endgame in sight, I sense the thrill,
As every move is evermore a will.
A life of moving pieces around,
For survival is the strongest sound.
But what is life without taking risks?
Sometimes one must make a sacrifice!
An intricate playbook of life, I must master,
To bring me out of the time, like a disaster.
Though I'm drained, I know I must go on,
For the reward I seek must remain strong.
Life is a game, and I will play it well,
Until in the end, I can wish me farewell.
