HOW I BECAME A COWBOY
My pappy was a cowboy as his pappy before him was.
And i'm a cowboy too cause cowboyin's what are people does.

You might say cowboyin's the family business that's handed down father to son you see.
So Just like my daddy's pappy did for him  my pappy did for me.

My dad's pappy taught him how to rope and ride and taught him how to shoe.
And when the time was right My pappy  taught me those things to.

He taught me how to drink and fight and how to mend a fence.
He taught how to saddle a horse, brand a cow and he taught me common sense.

He taught me to say yes sir and no mam and please and thank you too.
He taught me How to break a bronc fix a truck and that i always should speak true.

He taught me how to work hard and he taught how to play.
He taught me how to chew and cuss and he taught me how to pray.

He taught me how tend a horse to birth a calf and how to find a stray.
He taught me bout everthing i needed to know about the cowboy way.

When it comes to all the things my pappy taught me i guess i'd have to say.
When  you add em all together they're what makes me the man i am today.
