Mountain Dew Delight
Through summer’s blaze, your vigor comes to us,
A sip of mountain dew, both sharp and sweet.
With every drop, we drink the coolness, thus
Revived, we feel beneath the scouring heat.

An effervescence, quick to lift the soul,
A draught of you—electric, pure, alive.
As if a sprite within each bubble stole
The essence of the sun to help us thrive.

But as the final drop slides down, we yearn
For more than what remains within our grasp.
The longing swells; the parched throats twist and turn, In memory of that enlivening clasp.

One sip, a burst, you waken every sense—
In your retreat, our thirst is vast, intense.
