Ever so cold
Ever so cold is here in October's eve
Sun-kissed leaf doth have short life
Since birth from boillant womb of mother Earth
It fades, fragile green and then meets death
I wish I could revive it with my breath
Before its rest in everlasting Lethe
Green tongue of wind is withered,
And the teeth - are clattering
a farewell to all it hath:
To rapid riverside and to wet fields beneath;
To sun rays hiding in green wreath;
To blessed dew on flowers' vain heads;
To all the cloudless and liveness
With wonder in thine eyes hath soon to pass;
To family of obese bumblebee
That buzzed soothing songs to thee;
To serpents laying on the boulder stone
And showing tail to thee before the dawn.
Oh Lo, this tiny life soon ends
In trance of fleeting leaves years
