Knives & (All Your Worth)
A knife can shatter the sky
When the glass falls like rain
Would it burn when it cuts the skin
Don’t worry; you won’t feel a thing
Call for blood
Call for a flood
And let the world come undone
We were both on opposite ends
Cold, but you’ve got to let people go
Cold, but people can grow apart
A dagger for all your worth
A knife to see how breaking may hurt
Cut the skin and let the frost in
Freeze the blood
And let’s create from something we destroyed
Glass raindrops cut the skin
Oh, but you won’t feel a thing
The life you lose will allow others in
Coursing, flowing, glowing
Red, black, and blue
The knife severs through the skin
But let others in
I am not known to be a patient one
Maybe I should become a patient son
Sun-soaked in reflection
A dagger for direction
The mind engrained with habits
And methods of living like this
It’s hard to live this way
Knives to the future, follow through
Blood for blood
A lie for the lost boy
A truth hard to find
When you’ve been blinded by variables
Of culture and its kind
The face is a half-truth
Painted gold and made up
The other half left a lie
A silence, a soundness
It’s being drowned in its violence
Symptoms are treated with ignorance to the root
I long to watch the sky come unglued
And soothe my skin
Needles, daggers, knives
It’s ultraviolet light
But I will not sell my soul for dopamine
What a world to die to
What a time to die
As a knife shatters the sky
Soothing the skin of those who chose well
The blade severs the skin cells
Let the blood flow like a flood
And breathe again
