The Old Shed (Free Verse Poem)
In decay, it sat there
Wood rotting away,
For nobody had cared for it
Longer than a few days.
The hinges were broken,
The door always creaked.

People wanted to destroy it
But the owner refused.
The people stood there super confused,
Why would you save it they all pondered,
What is worthy of saving in that old garbage?

The wood was rotting, yes indeed,
But animals lived there not just weeds,
A fox and her babies had made it their home,
A group of hummingbirds frequented the spot,
For you see they knew it was awesome even though it was hot.

There were flowers and plants that were amazing to see,
In the shed that was broken and super ugly,
So was it worth saving the owner asked,
The people decided to give it a chance.
