Stormy Sea
In the shadows of my mind, I find no peace
As memories haunt me with their icy grip.
The past, a cruel beast that will not cease
To taunt, to torment, to slowly strip
Away the facade of strength I wear
To hide the pain that lingers deep within.
I long for healing, for a breath of fresh air
To fill my lungs, to cleanse my sin.
But in the darkness of despair, I am lost
A ship adrift on a stormy sea
With no lighthouse to guide me, no cost
Too great to pay for my soul to be free.
I search for solace in the solitude of night
Where my tears can fall like rain
And wash away the sorrows that bite
Into my heart, causing endless pain.
I am a prisoner to my own fears
Trapped in a cycle of doubt and dismay
But in the darkness, a glimmer appears
A tiny spark of hope to light my way.
I reach out, grasping for that faint gleam
Hoping against hope that it will lead
Me out of this never-ending dream
And into a world where my heart can finally be freed.
As I wander through the shadowed streets
I search for solace,...
