In marriage is dowry
In property is rent
In bank is debit or credit
In church it's donations
In government it's taxes
Money can bring a curse or it can bring joy
You decide what money is to you

The love of money is the root of all Evil
Its touch and feel can bring on the powers of the Devil
The word itself leaves a dirty stain upon the Soul
Like reaching into a deep and miry Hole
Taking it in stride we use it to Survive
Working for the man daily Nine to Five
But if we are really lucky and can make it Happen
We sit at home on Retirement just Nappin
Who came up with the concept of Money
Maybe the first person who discovered the sweetness we call Honey
The busy bees were hard at work and we couldn't steal all their Honeycomb
So we broke it off and only carried some of it Home
And the Gold color with which we ate from became a symbol of value and we needed to have more and More
So we found this same colored stone, pure and smooth, and still we keep plenty in Store.

It's the root of all our problems,
And it's never getting better.
We chase it day and night,
We work ourselves to the bone.
We sacrifice our happiness,
For a pile of riches grown.
But what is money without joy,
Or love and laughter, too?
It's just a pile of paper,
With nothing else to do.
Let's not let money rule our lives,
Let's find something more to love.
Let's find a deeper meaning,
Something greater from above.
