In an Antique Tavern Late After Midnight.
Inside an antique tavern, hours after midnight,
A drunken sage confronts a young man.
The man looked sad and burdened at first sight.
After all, who would drink alone in an antique tavern late after midnight?

The young man was thin, exhausted and pale,
His green eyes, surrounded by rather dark skin,
Looked strange on his otherwise fair face.
"Like dark, gloomy coal hiding a white gem"
His grey hair too made the old sage fazed.

The sage couldnt resist, he finally gave in.
"What is the matter son?", He had to ask,
"It seems you have seen no bliss tonight"
"I drink here often, through alms or debt;
But never have seen one here drinking alone late after midnight."

"Dont remind me of my pains, O Old Man!
I will live with my sorrow till the final rite."
Said the man with the deepest sigh,
Drinking in an antique tavern late after midnight.

No sooner had he finished than the sage gave out a jolly laugh, startling the man at the site.
"I am an old, drunkard, homeless man
and I can tell you my dear son,
There is no misery that is worth drinking alone
In an antique tavern late after midnight. "
