The Lion-Tiger-Wolf
I have a lion within,
Sometimes, a wolf;
And oftentimes, a striped tiger.
They say she should be asleep,
And usually, she is,
But it's not unusual to find her peering,
Through sleep-laden eyes;
"It's all a lot of foolishness," she thinks,
Then rolls over and catches more z's.

I have a lion within,
Sometimes, a wolf;
And oftentimes, a striped tiger.
They say she should be asleep,
And usually, she is,
But hurt me bad enough and she'll stir;
She'll wake,
Raze cities and slash at your face,
Afterwards, she limps away;
Half-way broken and claws broken,
She rolls over and catches her z's.

I have a lion within,
Sometimes, a wolf;
And oftentimes, a striped tiger.
They say she should be asleep,
And usually, she is,
But lately, I'm beginning to see;
She's scarred and bruised,
Burned and broken,
Yes, she still catches her z's,
But what about her feet?
Her paws?
Those broken claws and matted furs?
Shouldn't I be the one to take care of these,
When my warrior is asleep?
At the very least...
Shouldn't I get her something to eat?
