"Dear President Obama"

Dear President Obama,
You said there would be a change
In this great America land
But you forgot one thing...
You forgot about the Lakota Band
The People at Pine Ridge, South Dakota
STILL live in extreme poverty
Stripped of everything we had
Down to our last drop of dignity
Some don't even have the rations
That they had in the 1800's
How's that a "big change"?
I was just wonderin'
I mean The Battle of Little Big Horn oh and
The TWO incidents at Wounded Knee
Even Leonard Peltier in prison
WHO OUGHT TO BE SET FREE!!!!
You're busy bailing out other countries
Except the United States
But Indian People on ALL reservations
Still sit around and wait
MY People don't have running water and
We surely don't have proper health care
Some even don't have ELECTRICITY
Now tell me, how THAT is fair?
You gave Indian People broken promises and
Nothing but empty dreams
You've forgotten about America's People
You forgot about everything but your own needs!
My People stand tall and
Us Lakota's stand proud
Our voices will all become one
And Lord knows we gonna be LOUD!!!
Mitakuye Oyasin in Lakota translates to "We are all related"
And I believed that from the start
But in order to make a change
You have to find it in your heart!
My opinion Mr. President
And I find this very strange
How you've forgotten about All the Indian People
That's not what I would call "change"?
ALL those broken Promises and ALL those empty dreams...
Is probably gonna be the reason
For another uprising
You promised there would be change
In this great America Land
I highly doubt we'll see anything
change
While America is under your hand
