Often what we perceive,going through everyday motions,
is an attempt to maintain balance over rampant emotions.
Seeming to be part of something greater than ourselves,
which remains a mystery that into everybody delves.

Whenever life becomes too ordinary or simply boring,
needing something extra for their excitement to bring.
To make the day a little less tedious through an adventure,
that doesn't have silly rules which they must endure.

Imagining themselves as heroes in times of long ago,
to save the world from those which cause much woe.
Disguised as people who hold power over them beneath,
in castles made of stone from which hate did seethe.

Although overcome by compassion,which does conquer,
feelings of distress from seeing this world torn asunder.
Healing hearts with a power very difficult to understand,
when eyes are blinded by promises made most grand.

Being no more than a temporary escape from unhappiness,
like children at play on a Christmas morning's success.
Though forgotten as dreams slowly turn into despair,
when they can no longer bounce due to lack of air.
