ONLY HALF OF ME
As I stood in the halfway house
Which was halfway cross town
In the room I had booked
The rain was pouring outside
Tapping on the windows
Mixing with the sound of the shower
As I took a look in the mirror
And realised I was only half the man
I thought I was
Where was my smile
There was no glint in my eyes anymore
As a sadness filled my soul
The more I looked
The more imperfections I found
Within the mirrors image
Until I realised there really was
Only half of me there
I closed my eyes with sadness And reached out
My fingertips wiping away
The cold moist sheen on the mirror
And I wondered
Was the other half of me
Within that mirrors realm
Screaming back at me
To save myself
