এরপর একদিন খবর এলো,
আসবেন শাশুড়ি,
এলোকেশী বামনী।

চললো লড়াই,
সত্য, এলোকেশীর
সে যে এসেছিলো
কলকাতায়,
নিয়ে যেতে তার,
নাতনি সুবর্ণকে,
বলল, " গুরুদক্ষিনা দিতে হবে তারে,
নিয়ে যেতে হবে গুরুর,
আস্থানাতে,"
সত্য কইলো, " কিসের গুরুদক্ষিনা?
কেমন গুরুদক্ষিনা?
জামা কাপড়,
গয়নাগাটি,
এই তো তোমাদের,
গুরু দক্ষিনা!
তোমরা যারে গুরুদক্ষিনা,
দিতে চাইছো, তার গুরুদক্ষিনা
সম্পূর্ণ হয়েছে,
আমি তারে দিয়েছি,
গুরু দক্ষিনা,
একটি মন্ত্রে,
যা পাগল করে,
সব্বাইকে,
স্বাধীনতার মন্ত্রে,
বন্দেমাতরম মন্ত্রে!
এর থেকে ভালো মন্ত্র,
পাবে না কোথাও,
এই মন্ত্রেই,
দীক্ষিত
আমার সুবর্ণ। "
শুনে রেগে আগুন, তেলে বেগুন,
এলোকেশী কইলো তার ছেলেকে,
" ওরে, কি কুক্ষনে যে এলুম তোর বাড়িতে?
ডাক এক্ষুনি ঘোড়ার গাড়ি,
চললুম আমি,
এই ভিটে ছেড়ে,
এক্ষুনি। "
ছোট্ট সুবর্ণ, শুনছিলো সব কিছুই,
দু চোখ ভরে ছিল অশ্রুতে,
খানিকক্ষণ ভাবলো সে, " চলে যাবে?ঠাম্মি চলে
যাবে?
এ হতে পারে না কক্ষনো,"
চললো সে রান্না ঘরে,
মানাতে তার মাকে,
" ও মা, মা ঠাম্মি যে চলে গেলো!
ফিরবে না তো কক্ষনো?
তুমি গিয়ে আটকাও নাগো,
তারে,
বুঝিয়ে বললে,
সব ঠিক হয়ে যাবে।"
সত্য তখন সুবর্ণকে,
বোঝানোর চেষ্টা করলো বারে বারে,
কহিল সুবর্ণ, " আমি যাবো চলে,
গুরুদেবের মন্দিরে,
নেবো দীক্ষা,
এই আমার ইচ্ছা। "
সপাটে চড় সত্যবতীর,
" চলে যা তুই,
আসবিনা আর কোনদিনই,
পড়তে হবে না তোকে,
গুরুদক্ষিনাই,
নিবি। "
অভিমানী সুবর্ণ,
মানলো না আর কোনো,
কিছুই।


সত্যবতী কোনোদিনই, করেনি প্রহার
সুবর্ণকে,
ওটাই ছিল প্রথম, প্রহার,
যা সুবর্ণকে,
করলো আঘাত।

শুনলো না তো সে কিছুই,
চলে গেলো বহু দূরে,
তার এলোকেশী,
ঠাম্মির সাথে,
তারপরেতে কি হলো জানো?
হলো দীক্ষা
নেওয়া হলো বিয়ের প্রস্তুতি,
সুবর্ণর বলি।

খবর গেলো তার বাবার কাছে,
শুনে তার বাবার,
হলো সংশয়,
একদিকে বৌ,
আরেকদিকে মা,
সে কোথায় যায়?

অবশেষে হয়ে গেলো বিবাহ
না জানিয়ে সত্যকে,
জানতে পারলো,
সত্য,
তবে খুব দেরিতে।

সে এসেছিলো গ্রামে,
সুবর্ণর পিসি,
এনেছিল তাকে,
সে যে জানতো সবই,
শুধু বলার,
সাহসটুকু,
যোগাতে পারেনি।
রাগে, অপমানে, সত্য,
চেঁচিয়ে বলে উঠলো,
" মানি না আমি,
এই বিবাহ,
সুবর্ণকে এক্ষুনি নিয়ে যাব,
আমার সুবর্ণ,
পড়বে,
করবে নাকো,
কোনো বিয়ে!"

সুবর্ণ কাঁদতে থাকে, " মা বাড়ি যাবো!"
সত্য নিয়ে যেতে চাইলো,
নিয়ে যেতে দিলো না,
মুক্তকেশী,
হায় একি অনাসৃষ্টি কান্ড।

কাশীবাসি হলো সত্যবতী,
রাগে অপমানে,
করলো সে ত্যাগ,
তার সংসারকে।

অন্য দিকে সুবর্ণ,
তার যে নতুন সংসার,
সেই সংসারেই,
চললো বিপ্লব,
কত কথা, কত প্রতিবাদ,
সবাই বললো, " বিদ্যেধরি বৌ এসেছে,
সংসার যে যাবে
রসাতলে। "
সে সংসারে পুরোনো,
ধুলো ভরা,
কিছু মান্ধাতা আমলের,
নিয়মদেরই ছিল স্থান,
সুবর্ণলতার মুক্ত চিন্তায়ে,
হয়েছিল সবাই অম্লান,
সে তো ছিল না, আর পাঁচটা,
বৌয়ের মতো,
তাই প্রায়ই বাধতো,
অশান্তি সে সংসারে,
তারপর চলতো,
শাশুড়ির মুখঝামটা,
সেজো দেওরের,
কিছু গা জ্বালা
কথা।


আবার একদিকে সত্যবতী,
কাশীতে গিয়ে,
গড়লো মেয়েদের স্কুল,
কত বাধা, কত বিঘ্ন,
কত ঝড় ঝাপ্টা,
কত মার সহ্য করে,
প্রতিষ্ঠা হলো সে স্কুল।

আর সুবর্ণ?
তার যে ছোট্ট,
একটি শিশু হলো,
ফুটফুটে, হাসি খুশি মেয়ে,
চাঁপা।
এই ছিল তার বড়ো মেয়ে,
যে ছিল সুবর্ণর নেওটা,
সে কিনা বড়ো হয়ে,
মাকে করলো অবহেলা!
তার মায়ের নাকি সব কিছুতে,
বাড়াবাড়ি,
মেয়েদেরকে পড়াতে চায়ে।
এমনি করেই,
তিনটে মেয়ের হয়ে গেলো বিয়ে।


পারুলটি তার সেজো মেয়ে,
সে কিন্তু,
পড়তে চাইতো,
মাকে করতো সম্মান,
কিন্তু মায়ের অপমান,
তার হলো না সহ্য,
তাই বললো, " তুমি আমার বিবাহ,
স্থির করো মা,
এতো কথা,
তোমার এতো অপমান
এ যে অসহ্য,
তুমি বরং
বোন বকুলকে,
দিও শিক্ষা,
ওই হবে তোমার আশা,
তোমার স্বপ্ন,
তোমার ভরসা। "
তাই হলো বকুল গেলো,
ইস্কুলে,
উঠলো কলেজে,
বিবাহ হয়নি তার,
সে হয়েছে লেখিকা,
গল্প লিখে,
নাম করেছে,
তা দেখার জন্য,
নেই তার মা।
হ্যাঁ সুবর্ণ চলে গেছে,
চলে গেছে সত্যবতীও,
সুবর্ণর হয়েছিল,
রাজরোগ,
অতি ভয়ঙ্কর,
শেষকালে তার শাশুরিমারও
ধরেছিলো সে রোগ,
কেউ করেনি সেবা,
এক সুবর্ণ ছাড়া,

সেই রোগেই মৃত্যু হলো,
সুবর্ণর,
বকুল যে তার মাকে,
বড়ো ভালোবাসতো,
তাই মায়ের আরেকস্বপ্ন,
সে করেছিল পূর্ণ,
সুবর্ণর শেষকালে।

তার মা লিখেছিলো একটি বই,
যখন ছেপেছিল সে বই,
সমালোচনায়ে,
ভরে দিয়েছিলো,
সব্বাই,
কিছু কটু কথা, কিছুটা হাস্যরস ভরা কথা,
" দেখরে দাদা দেখ কি লিখেছেন!
আরে বানানটা সামলে,
পড়লেই যে বিসম খেতে হবে যে!"
এই ছিল ছোট ছেলের বক্তব্য,
সুবর্ণ হজম করেছিল,
সবটুকুই,
এবং পুড়িয়েও দিয়েছিলো,
তার লেখা বইগুলো।
বকুল তখন ছোট,
ও দেখেছিলো সবই,
তারপর থেকেই ও ঠিক করে,
" বড়ো হয়ে আমি, ছাপাবো,
সে বই,
সব্বাই পড়বে তখন,
গর্ব করবে
তোমার,
আসবে সেদিন,
খুব তাড়াতাড়ি। "

তাই হলো এদ্দিনে,
বই হলো ছাপানো,
শেষ পর্য্যন্ত মনোসকামনাটি,
পূর্ণ হলো,
সুবর্ণর এবং বকুলের,

এই ছিল গল্প,
সত্য আর সুবর্ণর,
আজ ও সবাই সে গল্প পড়ে,
মুগ্ধ।

Satya and Shuborno Part 2 ( Finale Part )Explaination in English :

Then One day, shuborno's grandma Elokeshi ( het Father's mom) arrived in Kolkata. She wanted to take Shubornolota with her in the village and wanted to give her Diksha ( A tradition which was performed before marriage ). Satyabati rejected that proposal she told, " I have given her the Diksha with a sacred mantra Vande mataram, the mantra of freedom" listening to this, Elokeshi infuriated she immediately told Nobu ( Shubarna' s father) " I am leaving today right now, at this moment, call the carriage " Shuborno watched it, tears trickled from her eyes she immediately go to the kitchen and requested her mother, not to allow grandma to leave the house. Satyabati tried to convince shuborno but she refused and told, " I will go with grandma and take diksha. " Hearing this Satyabati slapped Suborno. That was the first time she slapped her daughter. In anger Shubornolota left her house and her grandma gave her Diksha and also the date of her wedding was decided. Elokeshi sent a letter to her son Nobu.As Shuborno's father got that letter he was in trouble. He didn't tell her wife, he went to village and sent a letter to Shuborno's aunt who used to live there too. She got the news of Shuborno's wedding, but she didn't dare to inform this to Satyabati instead she told her to visit the village at once. When they arrived the village, it was too late. Suborno got married. Satyabati turned like a stone she protested , " I don't approve this a marriage." she shouted. Shubornolata wanted to go with her mother but her, mother in law named Muktokeshi didn't allow it. Satyabati left his family forever and lived in Kashi. There she built a girl school. There were many obstacles, many commentators who didn't want to have a girl school but she was so stubborn that oneday the girl's school was established. On the other hand Subornolota, she had new family, but everyday there were some arguments with her mother in law. And she faced many insulting words from her mother in law, from her husband and from Muktakeshi's third son, Prabhash. She wasn't like the other wife of the house who waste time in gossips. But she was extraordinary, her way of thought were different from others. Her in laws house had holding some ancient ideas and the tradition. Shubornolota changed that. And oneday she got pregnant and then she gave birth to a baby girl named Chanpa, who was her elder daughter. She wanted her daughter to be educated. At first she obeyed her mom but as the time passed she disobeyed her, as shubornolota's mother in law told her about marriages and Chanpa got married. Like this way the three girls got married. But she had a daughter parul ( third daughter ) she always obeyed her mom and didn't wanted to get married until her mom was insulted she couldn't tolerate it and Parul took a decision to get married, she told, " I can't tolerate your insults please educate my sister Bokul (The yonger sister of Shubornolota )." Bokul was educated, she had gone to school, then college and then became a great writer. But that time to see that Shubornolota wasn't present, she died. She had Tuberculosis, as her mother in law had the same. No one was there to look after Muktokeshi except Shubornolota who looked after her.But there were another dream of her mom Suborno to fulfilled and that was, Shubornolota had written a book, as she was married she was a child and she had stopped going to school so she didn't know the spellings properly. After that book had published her 2nd son Bhanu insulted, and made fun of her. He told to his elder brother Kanu , " Bro, look what she has written, watch out the spellings it can make u vomit. "
Subornolota digested those unpleasant comment but as the comments became so much terrific she couldn't tolerate and burned down her book. Bokul her younger daughter was just a kid that time but she could understand everything and she decided that oneday she will published her mom's book no matter what. Later this dream was fulfilled. This is the story of Satyabati and Subornolota which impressed us so much, even today.

P.S. Ashapurna devi had written the book in three parts, the 1st is " Pratham Pratishruti. "That was the story of Satyabati, the 2 nd is "Shubornolata". That is the story of Subornolota and the last part is " Bokul Kotha. " That was the story of Shuborno's youngest daughter Bokul.
