Words of my heart
I adore the beauty of each syllable,
As it reaches to the depths of my heart
Words, that carry the power to build and destroy...
To mend or to tear something apart
When I cry myself to sleep, when I awake in grief
When I tell myself I can't or when I sigh in disbelief
My fingers glide across the brown pages, turned fragile by time
As I lay in my bed by the window, drowned in those hollow thoughts of mine
The poetry, it's essence remind me of everything I had found and lost
My heart burdened with sweet pain, restless and tossed
A moment to close my eyes as warm tears stream down...
Smudging the ink on the paper as the words helplessly drown
A knock on the door would break the trance..
As I'm back to prend, "Smile!, there watches the world"
Wipe those tears dry cause no one wants to see it
Like a forbidden plague, let out and unfurled.
The words of my heart go unseen, unheard
But it is etched in my heart, all mine
As I remember it by every word.
