I woke and saw the news today,
And I was worried for the world.
I saw violence and suffering,
And the hatred that’s been sold.

But then I watched some heroes,
Surround a man in pain,
And save him from the chaos,
And I knew that I was sane.

For when that moment touched me,
I felt the path was clear,
No one has to die today,
For ignorance and fear.

And while I know it doesn’t change that much,
I had something to give,
For it doesn’t matter what you have,
It only matters how you live.

As you look a person in the eye,
You can see into their soul,
If you look and gaze deep enough,
It’s their truth that you can hold.

Like a calming baby’s sweet sweet smile,
Or seeing that young person in the old,
It’s how you see a person’s true worth,
Not the world’s story that’s been told.

And while I know it doesn’t change that much,
You have something you can give,
For it doesn’t matter what you think,
It only matters how you live.
