Those flowers were just excuses .....
The sulky sky stretched wide
Like a bubbly blue blanket
And so joyful were the cotton clouds
And the clever crow on the tree taking rounds
The big bus roared down the street
As the small kids wore caps, keeping away the heat
I ignored everything, spacing out,
My friend being sad, sat with a pout
But something caught my gaze
Pushing me out of the haze
My eyes on them
As they were unaware of my speaking stare
A young boy, young as spring
Ran down the steady street...
Like a bubbly blue blanket
And so joyful were the cotton clouds
And the clever crow on the tree taking rounds
The big bus roared down the street
As the small kids wore caps, keeping away the heat
I ignored everything, spacing out,
My friend being sad, sat with a pout
But something caught my gaze
Pushing me out of the haze
My eyes on them
As they were unaware of my speaking stare
A young boy, young as spring
Ran down the steady street...
