Did you even meant that?(EDITED)

Do you recall those days of old,
When pain you caused, my heart turned cold,
I stood by you through thick and thin,
But now it seems you've forgotten when.

I doubt you miss my company,
Though I was there to set you free,
You don't seem to give a care,
Despite the love we used to share.

You vowed to stay until my end,
But, darling, was that just pretend?
You're skilled at weaving empty words,
Now acting as if they're never heard.

I remember those excuses, lies,
You chased other love 'neath different skies,
You sought only fleeting frames to frame,
Treating my love as a fleeting game.

At the same table, we once sat,
You asked for favors, how 'bout that?
You said you'd found someone much better,
Now you want us severed, I should forget her.

Yet, I hold those letters close to me,
From the days when love was wild and free,
You promised care eternally,
Now, you claim it was all in jest, you see.

Did you really mean to wound me so,
With words of love, just for a show?
You spoke of love, so sweet and fine,
Now you insist we were never entwined.

It's time for this charade to cease,
You said we were just friends, at least,
Oh, baby, have you lost your way?
You once pretended you'd forever stay.

You found someone else, it's true,
Now, you're pushing me to bid adieu.
