nobody talks about the struggle
nobody talks about, how to become a butterfly,
the caterpillar must outgrow it's own skin-
it's the only way it's cells can transform into
something more. there are no shortcuts to liberation;
if we cut a butterfly out of it's cocoon mid-struggle
it would quite literally never be able to fly.
Nobody talks about the toughness of that transformation.
Of our own metamorphosis.
Nobody talks about how uncomfortable the in between really is; of all the skins we have to outgrow, or shed, or lose or to find again.
We compare our lives to others in the same way the way we see butterfly and call them beautiful for all the wrong reasons. Maybe next time we see someone, we'll stop and marvel at the strength it took to become.
