The Yellow Brick Road
I feel like Dorothy,

Walking down that yellow brick road

But without family or friends,

Just foes and dead ends.

Walking down that yellow brick road,

Towards a castle built of green stone,

Thinking they'll send me away,

Because what if they think,

I'm the witch in disguise,

The one who will bring their sure demise,

These bright red slipper that I wear,

A trick of the eye, to cause despair

To break their mighty kingdom,

And spoil all they've found,

A witch in disguise, strolling through town.

I'm so very far from home,

Too scared to dare to ask for their help,

Too weak to find peace on my own,

They'll think I'm just another fallen martyr,

A symbol of their cruel world,

Why would they ever sympathize,

When they've gone through far worse.

What do they care if I die of thirst,

Or starve to death or far, far worse,

In a world that's always been unkind,

I'm lost without family or friends

Stuck in a world of foes and dead ends,

Thinking I can never win,

Not without becoming kin,

To heartless men of tin,

Or souls that fit in,

I'm lost in this strange, cruel world,

Where I could die of hunger and thirst.

Something I found in one of my old notebooks from 6th grade, don't know how I feel about it because I don't think it's very good but eh, can't write a master piece all the time.
For the swifties here, Taylor just announced a new album called "The Tortured Poets Department" (sign me up), today (or yesterday because it's past midnight and I'm utterly sleep deprived). Feel free to freak out about that in the comments so I don't feel weird about being *this* excited.
