An Artist's Curse
To stand atop the rest,
One has to have within them,
An incessant need,
To strive for excellence,
To obsess over perfection,
Cause in the artist's eyes,
To accept anything less,
Would be admitting defeat,
To be great, is to be stubborn,
To strive for something greater,
Some might call it, a double-edged sword,
Never complacent, in pursuit of excellence
Only those who are deranged enough,
To burn the midnight oil,
For as long as their restless soul allows,
Shall be worthy to stand above them all,
A curse, every artist is afflicted with,
A hunger never satiated,
A high that's endlessly chased,
A dream, forever pursued
