20 odd years in a page
I could tell you things
So appalling you'll wince and whinge,
I could lay it down for you the real
And tell you how we used to steal,
How we stood on corners till daft o'clock
Puffing Bush and flipping rock,
Or how I fed my hunger and clothed my back
And in the process avoided crack,
What about my wins and my losses
And the foes from other posses,
The brothers lost
Brothers from other mothers paid the cost,
My rehabilitation under her majestys service
Drowned me and brought a new person to surface,
Turned a wild animal into a collard one
Trained me to kill and give me a gun to don,
I could tell you much more
Be honest I'd rather not though,
I'd rather tell you about the people stronger than me
The ones who set my heart free,
The ones who weathered the storm of a raging sea
The ones who saw me...for me.
