Kolkata, known as the city of joy
a hospital where dreams
were supposed to come true
lies a body lifeless and destroyed
a doctor meant to save lives and heal
bleeding from eyes and mouth on to the floor
her case is now concealed
we couldn't save her or
the nurse who was murdered
around the same time
we couldn't save her either
or any of the hundreds of women
getting assaulted and killed...
