The Song
When my eyes birthed the light of dawn,
I felt the subtle harmony beside me
Your song swirled in and out of my entity
And it pulled me in close

I twirled it through my fingers
And gently combed it over
I held it in the dome of my cathedral,
Sitting in wait at the first pew,
As it reverberated off every wall.
The smile you paint with such skill
Was emblazoned upon me once more

The song whisperered in my ear
While encompassing both hands
It grazed my chin, held my gaze upwards
So I could study the beauty composing its face.
And whom should I see enfolded
But you, keeper of my dreams?

I took a closer look
And saw all the truth in your eyes
I took another listen
Heard the story you couldn't tell

The woman you wanted to show me
Was swaying in the windy rhythm,
Was peeking from behind the lyrics
And trusted to let me into her world,
Entering through a simple song.
