Maternal fear
#WritcoPoemPrompt20
Lush, green meadows,
Brimming with fragrant flowers,
Borderlands to joy,
Pathways to success,
In the companionship of,
Family and friends.

Thunder rumbles, lightening winks,
Nature decorations all but wither,
Until it is revealed to me the heavenly bodies that graced me we're all falsified.
Familiar companions all around me vanish into thin air,
They, slowly but surely, begin to disappear.

Beads of perspiration attack my senses and I awaken from my horrific fantasy,
The cotton beneath me drenched in sweat,
The pillow on my warm head damp in heat.
But I am relieved,
I am relieved,
I am relieved to absent in reality from my false horror.

I speed down the never ending stairs,
Then I find the closing to my loved ones,
I unlock it slowly as if waiting to see an empty bed,
Hallelujah! Lo and behold my birth mother awaken, startled by my impromptu arrival.

The smile on my lips widened hysterically.
'I love you mum.'
